Assassin’s Creed III Debut Trailer Released

We may already know a good bit about Assassin’s Creed III thanks to leaked screenshots and leaked details from Game Informer, but that doesn’t really make the announcement trailer for Assassin’s Creed III any less awesome.

Ubisoft sent out the very first trailer for Assassin’s Creed III, and along with it confirmed a few of the details that leaked out over the weekend. The game will star half-Native American Ratohnaké:ton–or, if you prefer a more easily pronounceable name, Connor–and is set during the American Revolution, which is made very clear in the trailer.

Assassin’s Creed III features the franchise’s most expansive setting so far, along with an exciting new hero and exponentially more gameplay,” said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft, in a press release. “Whether you’re a longtime fan of Assassin’s Creed or if you’re new to the franchise, you’re going to be blown away by the scale and marvel of Assassin’s Creed III.”

In addition to dropping the first Assassin’s Creed III trailer and confirming a few gameplay details, Ubisoft also confirmed that Assassin’s Creed III will be making its way to the Wii U in addition to the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game is set to release on the latter three platforms this October.
