Jason Hoppy & Bethenny Frankel Divorce Update: ‘RHONY’ Star Refuses Divorce Settlement [Report]
Jason Hoppy and Bethenny Frankel have reportedly reached a stalemate in their ongoing divorce, and according to a new report, The Real Housewives of New York City star is to blame.
On April 15, a source revealed the following to Radar Online:
“The divorce is being dragged out and the reason is all Bethenny. She refuses to sign off on giving the Tribeca apartment to [Jason Hoppy]. Jason has remained in the renovated loft, with Bryn, 4 since Bethenny filed for divorce.”
Jason Hoppy and Frankel tied the knot in 2010, just weeks before welcoming their first child together. In the months that followed, the couple filmed Bethenny Getting Married and Bethenny Ever After. Then, after three seasons on their Bravo spinoff, Jason Hoppy and his wife walked away from reality television, and months later, announced they were headed for a divorce.
Although Jason Hoppy and Frankel initially claimed their split would be civil, it quickly became just the opposite, after both parties filed for custody of their young daughter.
While the couple has since come to a custody agreement for Bryn, the fight for their apartment continues. However, while Frankel previously wanted to live in the home, she now wants the home sold.
“Bethenny wants the Tribeca loft sold, and doesn’t want [Jason Hoppy] to be given the apartment as part of the divorce settlement, but Jason is refusing to budge, and wants to stay. The building offers excellent security, and he wasn’t the person to bail on the marriage, Bethenny was. Bethenny can more that afford to give Jason the apartment, and he feels he is owed it.”
The Radar Online source claimed that despite Frankel’s on-screen antics, which seemed to hint she was blindsided by Jason Hoppy’s decision to live in the home, regardless of their split, Frankel knew of his plan all along.
“It was no secret that [Jason Hoppy] was planning on remaining in the apartment. Bethenny could have, and should have moved to a new permanent residence. Thinking Jason would just give in and move out, Bethenny was stunned he didn’t.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Frankel opened up about her ongoing divorce from Jason Hoppy in her new book, I Suck At Relationships So You Don’t Have To, which hit bookstores on April 14. According to a Radar Online report, Frankel admitted to being “b—hy” at times, and claimed she “beat herself up” and “obsessed” when her relationship with Jason Hoppy came to an end.
