‘Batman V Superman’ Trailer: Running Time, Classification Announced By BBFC

The Batman v Superman trailer is almost upon us and now we have an idea of how much footage we will finally see, as the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has officially classified the clip.

If the news about the impending arrival of the Batman v Superman trailer — or portions of it — had you jumping up and down in excitement, we have additional information that will make you even happier. The BBFC announced that the clip will be two minutes and six seconds in length. That’s a lot of time.

In addition, the movies organization classified the Batman v Superman trailer as 12A. This classification means that the movie may “contain material that is not generally suitable for children aged under 12. No one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult.”

The news was shared by Anton Volkov on Twitter and rapidly picked up by multiple news outlets. Now it’s a matter of waiting for the short few seconds director Zack Snyder will reportedly share with everyone on Thursday, via his Twitter.

According to Comic Book, the BBFC releases classifications days prior to the release of a trailer, which is the best confirmation possible on news the Batman v Superman trailer will arrive momentarily. As reported by the Inquisitr and many others, we expect to receive instructions on how to see the full trailer, plus additional footage in theaters on Monday, April 20.

On Tuesday, Collider brought fans the wonderful news that the Batman v Superman trailer would arrive much sooner than had been previously reported. The much awaited clip was originally attached to Mad Max: Fury Road, which comes out in exactly one month in the U.S. (May 15).

However, now we are almost certain we will get to see Henry Cavill (Superman) and Ben Affleck (Batman) on Thursday. According to the website, Snyder will share a few seconds of the first full length trailer one hour prior to the release of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer by his buddy, J.J. Abrams at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California.

Abrams is expected to be joined by Lucasfilm President, Kathleen Kennedy and original Star Wars cast members Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Kenny Baker (R2 D2), and Anthony Daniels (C3PO), among others. A great day for fan boys and girls.

Stay tuned and share in the excitement when the brand new Batman v Superman trailer is finally made public when Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters May 1. No word on an official poster at this time, but we will keep you posted with the latest news.
