‘Bachelor’ Chris Soules Survives ‘DWTS’ Elimination, Fiancee Whitney Bischoff Stands By His Side

Former Bachelor Chris Soules survived elimination Monday night on Dancing With the Stars, but it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. Chris and partner Witney Carson had a tough week of rehearsals and he pulled a calf muscle to boot. The DWTS duo was in jeopardy, but they will be dancing again next week. Luckily Chris had fiancee Whitney Bischoff by his side and that team looks like it’s still going strong.

After Monday’s Dancing With the Stars performance, Chris posted a photo with Whitney on Instagram. He was still in his Disney Hercules costume and while he perhaps looked a bit worse for wear, Whitney was smiling.

Chris wrote,

“@whitb624, I am the luckiest guy in the world with you by my side. I love you. Sorry you’ve got a fiance with a busted leg!”

As DWTS viewers saw during their pre-taped rehearsal package, things got a bit tense this past week between Chris and Witney. Carson won the mirror-ball trophy last season with Alfonso Ribiero, but Soules is the first to point out he’s not Alfonso.

Chris snapped at Witney at one point and she ended up in tears. Luckily Alfonso himself came into the studio to lend some support and the duo seemed to be doing better by the time they danced. While Chris and Witney have worked through it, online commentary would indicate that Bachelor fans were a bit stunned to see Soules snap like he did.

Soules told People that “It was tough to watch. It was tough to go through” after seeing it all play out on-screen.

Chris added that both he and Witney are doing the best they can. He added, though, that he knows he’s not Alfonso and not a dancer, and Witney sometimes gets frustrated with him. Despite the tough moments, Soules says that the two have a close relationship and notes that every partnership has its difficult moments and times of disagreements.

At one point on Monday, it was up in the air whether Chris and Witney would even be able to perform. Soules says that heading into the performance, he thought there was perhaps as much as 30 percent of the dance he wouldn’t be able to do. He did make it through, but once again Soules and Carson received some mediocre scores.

Will next Monday’s show be the end of the road for Chris and Witney? Some Dancing With the Stars fans think it just might, as there are a lot of couples who will surely be safe without much difficulty. Many had predicted that Chris might head home this week, but ultimately it was Suzanne Somers who was eliminated from DWTS instead.

Whitney Bischoff was at Monday’s Dancing With the Stars show, but she hasn’t tweeted or shared anything on Instagram about it this time around. Will Chris Soules be able to bounce back from this performance and his energy to dive into the challenges of Week 6?

As PureDWTS notes, not only will Chris and Witney have to tackle an individual dance, but they have a team dance as well. It seems they’ll be on “Team Rumer” dancing to the song “Trouble” by Iggy Azalea featuring Jennifer Hudson. Their team consists of Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy, Riker Lynch and Allison Holker along with Patti LaBelle and Artem Chigvintsev.

Dancing With the Stars spoilers indicate that “Team Nastia” will be dancing to “Wipeout” by the Surfaris. That team then consists of Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough, Willow Shields and Mark Ballas, Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess along with Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson. Some might give the edge to Team Nastia, though either way it should be a great battle to watch.

Will the next episode of Dancing With the Stars see Bachelor fans bidding farewell to Chris Soules, Whitney Bischoff and Witney Carson from this spring season? DWTS fans will definitely be tuning in to see if this is the end of the reality TV road, at least for now, for Chris, Whitney and Witney.
