Kristen Bell Discusses Couples Therapy With Dax Shepard

Kristen Bell is known for discussing her private life. She often uses it as a platform to champion movements close to her heart. For the May issue of Good Housekeeping, Bell discusses the challenges in her marriage.

Bell is open and honest about how she constantly has to work on her relationship with husband Dax Shepard, for the sake of herself and their two children Lincoln and Delta. For the actress, the decision to have children, and actually having them vastly changed her outlook and her life.

For starters, the Veronica Mars star admits that she didn’t know if she even wanted to have children. She wasn’t convinced so she sought out the advice from her friends about whether or not she should have children, and if she would feel like there’s something missing in her life. “Before we had the girls, I asked a few people in my life who are annoyingly blunt and honest on every level if we should, knowing that if it wasn’t worth it, they’d have the balls to say, ‘Listen, don’t. Live your life.’ But across the board, everyone said it was unmissable.”

Soon after Bell had daughter Lincoln, she realized that not only did she make the best decision, but it was very overwhelming. “Having kids feels like that first seventh-grade crush that overwhelms every molecule in your body, but it’s permanent.”

As for her marriage to Dax Shepard, she says that she advocates for marriage counseling sessions with the Parenthood actor. “I don’t mind advertising a healthy marriage. I’m trying, just like everyone else. Therapy is not something to be embarrassed about.”

Although the actress revealed they do go to counseling, it sounds like the pair are very happy, but perhaps that’s because they actively work on their marriage. As the Inquisitr reported, during a Q&A session on Twitter, Bell revealed that another great decision was saying “I do” to her hubby.

When asked about the moment she wanted to relive in her life, Bell tweeted, “Moment I promised myself to @daxshepard1. Best decision I’ve made 2date.”

As for how they sustain their marriage in the spotlight, Bell said it comes down to a few things via a tweet.

“Hardwork. On communication. Listening, Caring, Compromising.”

Looks like these two have some solid foundation.
