Suzanne Somers was voted off DWTS on Monday night after having the lowest combined total of judges’ scores and viewer votes. According to ABC News, Somers and her dance pro partner Tony Dovolani danced a foxtrot to the theme from Three’s Company last week. While many were touched by Somers’ dance (which she dedicated to the late John Ritter), she wasn’t able to really nail it, or convince viewers to vote for her.
Despite her elimination, the 68-year-old had nothing but great things to say about the experience, and about Tony.
“He is a gentleman and he gave me everything he had and I so loved this,” she said.
Suzanne Somers’ DWTS exit came after she had a little mishap with her dress while dancing what ended up being her last dance. According to Fox News, Somers and Dovolani scored a 28 out of 40 for their Lady And The Tramp number despite the debacle.
“That was a bummer. That was just one of those things that never entered my mind, never, ever that there would be an issue with the heel getting caught in the hem of my dress. And I couldn’t extricate it,” Somers said after the show. Of course she was relatively happy with her scores, but she won’t have a chance to improve upon them for next week.
Many feel that Suzanne Somers’ days on DWTS have been numbered from the beginning. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Somers was in the bottom two after week one, and narrowly escaped elimination. Redfoo (from LMFAO) and Emma Slater were actually the first couple eliminated on Season 20. From that moment on, Suzanne and Tony knew that they would have to work extra hard, and that they really needed fans to call in and vote for them.
Now on the chopping block is Bachelor star Chris Soules. He has been “in jeopardy” several times now, and many feel that he and Witney Carson will be eliminated in the next week or two.
As for front runners, Nastia Liukin (and Derek Hough), Rumer Willis (and Val Chmerkovskiy), and Willow Shields (dancing with Mark Ballas) will likely see the finals. Many fans believe that the Mirror Ball Trophy will go to a female competitor this season.
Last season, actor Alfonso Ribeiro (dancing with Witney Carson) won the coveted prize.
