Sandwich Shop Dumpster: Free Meal Offered To ‘Dumpster Diver’ By Shop Owner In Oklahoma

The owner of a sandwich shop offered a “dumpster diver” free peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a viral story that will renew your faith in humanity.

According to Sport Act, shop owner Ashley Jiron noticed that someone had been going through her dumpster to find scraps to eat. Instead of getting angry or calling the cops, Jiron posted a friendly note on her shop door and on the dumpster, offering the mystery person a free meal. Jiron feels that a human being deserves a break and shouldn’t have to search for scraps in the trash.

“To the person going through our trash for their next meal. You’re a human being and worth more than a meal from a dumpster. Please come in during operating hours for a classic Pb&j, fresh veggies, and a cup of water at no charge. No questions asked.”

The sandwich shop dumpster diver made Jiron really upset, and she wanted to do something to help this person out. According to WPTV, Jiron hasn’t met the person yet, but she says that she will not rescind her offer until the person comes in for a meal.

“I will not take down that sign until they come in… I think we’ve all been in that position where we needed someone’s help and we just needed someone to extend that hand and if I can be just that one person to extend that hand to another one human being to make their day better, then I will definitely do it.”

The sandwich shop dumpster note has gone viral online. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, thousands of people have shared the photo on social media, and the shop owner is being applauded for her act of kindness. Several news outlets have reported the story, and people are loving the idea that Jiron came up with. While it is unknown if the dumpster diver will ever head into the shop, many hope that the free meal helps him or her out.

It would certainly be nice for this person to be able to enjoy a free meal without any questions asked, but some people who are in tight spots like this prefer not to get any attention. Some don’t even want help.

What do you think of Jiron’s gesture?
