Assassin’s Creed III: First Details, New Screenshots Leak

Ubisoft seems to be having a hard time plugging Assassin’s Creed III-shaped leaks, apparently.

Not even a week after Assassin’s Creed III boxart was leaked online–which Ubisoft then followed up on by releasing a more “official” shot–a handful of screens have made their way online along with a boatload of details pertaining to the game’s story and gameplay.

The new Assassin’s Creed III details comes by way of the latest issue of Game Informer, which also leaked online and promptly posted over on NeoGAF. According to the post on the forums, Assassin’s Creed III will, as expected, star a Native American protagonist.

The post goes on to say that Assassin’s Creed III will have new means of traversing the environment, with players having the ability to climb trees and even mountains. The combat system will apparently seeing a bit of an overhaul as well, with Ubisoft creating “thousands” of new and unique combat animations for Assassin’s Creed III‘s new protagonist.

Other highlights from the detail drop including the ability to hunt animals for resources, the engine update allows for “thousands” of characters on screen at once (which Ubisoft will apparently be making use of in several events) and, interestingly, the world will apparently change based on the seasons and as the result of bloody battles.

For the full gamut of new Assassin’s Creed III details, you can check out this post over on NeoGAF. You can also find the full batch of leaked Assassin’s Creed III screens directly below.
