Rush Limbaugh Receives Suspicious Package, Bomb Squad Called In

Rush Limbaugh seems to have made a habit out of infuriating people at seemingly every opportunity, be they supporters or rivals, so it should come as no surprise that Limbaugh’s security team expected the worst when a suspicious package showed up at his Palm Beach home on Thursday.

When inspecting the package, Rush Limbaugh’s security team noticed what appeared to be wires and, fearing that it could possibly be a bomb, promptly notified the police, which then sent in a bomb squad to further investigate the suspicious package.

As it turns out, however, Limbaugh’s package was completely harmless. The Palm Beach County Sherriff’s Office said in a statement that the package was some form of electronic plaque having to do with Abraham Lincoln assassin John Wilkes Booth–no specifics were provided.

The sender of the package apparently included the item along with a “business opportunity”, and had no intentions of causing Limbaugh to believe the package contained a bomb. Police investigators contacted the sender, whose name is being kept under wraps, and the person apologized.

The sender of the package to Limbaugh, who is reportedly from Pennsylvania, will not face any charges, Palm Beach Police spokesperson Fred Hess confirmed, as no actual crime was committed.
