Watch all the drama of Manchester United vs. Manchester City live online Sunday as the Barclays Premier League showcases its top regional rivalry in the always-anticipated Manchester Derby. This time, the teams are headed in opposite directions as Manchester City tries to hold on to its Top Four place, while United has won five league matches in a row.
But Manchester United has dropped its last four league contests against their crosstown rival. No opponent has ever scored five consecutive league victories over Manchester United, meaning that the defending Premier League champions are fighting not only to move ahead of third-place United in the table, but for a new level of bragging rights in the football-mad northern metropolis.

With Chelsea at 70 points — nine ahead of City’s 61 — a repeat title looks to be off the table. But United currently sits just one point atop Manchester City in the table and a loss probably consigns the Sky Blues to fourth place, which of course carries Championship League qualification, but requires the team to play a two-leg playoff to qualify for the group stage.
The top three Premier League finishers gain automatic group stage qualification.
A loss would also cause some nerves in the Manchester City camp, because a win by Liverpool over Newcastle on Monday would allow the Reds to close within just four points of the coveted fourth-place position with six games remaining.
A win by Manchester United would be the first time the team has defeated City at Old Trafford since 2011. But the squad will be without striker Robin Van Persie who has been ruled out with an ankle injury, and defender Jonny Evans who is still serving a six-match ban for spitting at Newcastle’s Papisse Cisse.
Another United defender, Luke Shaw, is also unavailable as he nurses a bad hamstring.
On the city side, Vincent Kompany is also bothered by a hamstring pull and will likely miss Sunday’s derby showdown. Striker Wilfred Bony is out with a knee injury, as is defender Dedryck Boyata.
But City’s Sergio Aguero has put the ball in the net four times in his previous three Barclays Premier League Manchester United contests, while United’s star striker Wayne Rooney has scored eight goals against City — but only three on his home Old Trafford pitch.
