WWE News: Three Matches For ‘Extreme Rules’ In Place — Stipulations And Other Match Rumors

It’s almost the two week mark before WWE Extreme Rules, and SmackDown just went down on Thursday night, but not a lot was made much clearer. Three title matches have been officially announced and are confirmed, but there are a number of others that are rumored and so are some stipulations so let’s check out what may happen.

The WWE World Heavyweight Title match is in place between Seth Rollins and Randy Orton, but there is no stipulation yet in place. Many are thinking that this could end up as a cage match due to constant outside interference from J&J Security and other members of The Authority.

Sports World News believes that stipulations will be added to both that match and the WWE United States Title match between John Cena and Rusev. The stipulation is rumored to be that of a “Submission Match” as both men have submission holds that have come into play during their feud.

The third match already confirmed and in place for Extreme Rules is Daniel Bryan defending the Intercontinental Title against Bad News Barrett. It’s likely that this won’t be made into a “Ladder Match,” but it may end up not even getting a stipulation at all.

Now, there is a good chance that at least four more matches could be added to the Extreme Rules card before it happens.

According to Lords of Pain, Roman Reigns could have a match against Big Show at the event or he could team up with Ryback to face Big Show and Kane in a tag team match. Either match is a huge drop from just headlining the main event of WrestleMania less than a month before.

Even though Sheamus returned and went after Daniel Bryan, WWE is likely going to have Bryan finish out his feud with Barrett first. This may open the door for a match between Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler at Extreme Rules which could advance one or the other to face Bryan for the title.

On Monday Night Raw, the divas will have a battle royal that was granted to them last week by Kane. The winner of that match will become the number one contender for WWE Divas Title held by Nikki Bella, and rumors are leaning toward Naomi or Natalya winning that spot.

Extreme Rules hasn’t been built up a whole lot just yet, but there’s still plenty of time to add undercard matches. The rumors floating around aren’t for the strongest matches, but the three title matches already make the event look like a pretty good one.
