Romney Says Santorum Should Give Some Delegates Back

Just when you thought the campaign couldn’t get any more ridiculous?

A Mitt Romney campaign surrogate said on Wednesday that Rick Santorum should “give back” some of the delegates that he won in the Michigan primary on Tuesday, insisting that some were obtained by nefarious purposes.

“[Santorum] cheated by asking people who would never vote for him for president to vote for him in the Republican primary,” Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio) said on a call with reporters. “I believe that he should agree to give back a percentage of the delegates that he won in the Republican primary with Democrat votes that would never support him for president.”

To hear Romney whine about it is almost as funny as listening tell the story about how when he was in Massachusetts he voted for Democrats only to make sure the weaker one had a chance of winning so the Republican could beat him. Now he is upset that is happening to him. Equally funny is that Michigan was an open primary because the Romney campaign thought they could bring in a lot of Democrats to his side and help him win!

What is burning Romney is that because Santorum took advantage of the system that Romney designed and used it against Romney that somehow it was “unfair”. This is the typical response of Romney, one set of rules for him another set for everyone else.

It is good to see a robust primary where multiple voices have been heard all articulating a different view point.

Do you think Mitt Romney should be the nominee?
