‘Call of Duty: Black Ops III’ Teased, Reveal Date Set

Activision released a new teaser for the upcoming entry in the Call of Duty franchise due later this year, and it all but confirmed that Treyarch is working on Black Ops III. While the official name and reveal hasn’t actually happened, the teaser doesn’t leave much to really speculate.

After the trailer was released, Activision posted a story on their blog, confirming the teaser was in fact for Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The Call of Duty teaser shows some nifty CG, with a letter scrawling across a black screen while voice overs from previous entries in the Black Ops sub-franchise played over the trailer. For those who can’t quite understand the voice overs, IGN has posted a transcript of the trailer on their site.

  • “This should help you remember everything.”
  • “The numbers, Mason. What do they mean?”
  • “Everything you know is wrong.”
  • “Your life will be consumed by absolute loss.”
  • “He doesn’t need his own weapons; he’s got ours.”
  • “They’ll always need men like us.”
  • “Our greatest barrier is our own fear, our own doubts.”
  • “The only thing holding us back is how far we are willing to go.”

Recently, the Inquisitr speculated as to what the next Call of Duty should do to be as great as Advanced Warfare. Fans of the Black Ops series are hopeful that Treyarch builds upon what Sledgehammer re-built with the last Call of Duty release.

Activision has also mentioned that “intel” will be revealed throughout various social media channels, such as Snapchat and Instagram, and some of that intel has already be found for the upcoming Call of Duty game. According to another post on IGN, an intel piece hints that the upcoming Black Ops III will include a variation of the “Exo-suits” that Advanced Warfare brought to Call of Duty.

“Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series. Developed by Treyarch, the award-winning creator of the two most-played games in Call of Duty history. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare. With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies, providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever.”
