Lindsay Lohan Talks to Matt Lauer

It was a rare public sit down appearance for Lindsay Lohan on Tuesday when she spoke to Matt Lauer of the Today Show.

The troubled star appeared on the show to promote her career comeback and SNL hosting duties. Lauer didn’t pull any punches when he had Lindsay in the hot seat, going straight to the questions that were on everyone’s mind.

He asked if she was clean and sober and Lohan said, “I’m clean and sober. It’s been a long time. It’s nice to feel that I also have a lot of great people in my life that are in the same position, that have helped me to figure myself out.”

Lohan says that she’s not a party girl anymore and calls herself a “homebody” “I went out a few months ago with a friend, and I felt so uncomfortable. Not because I felt tempted but it was the same thing that it always was before and it wasn’t fun for me.”

Matt Lauer admitted that the death of Whitney Houston brought Lohan to mind and asked if it made her reflect on her past troubled life. A weary Lindsay replied, Not really. I don’t want to go there. That’s kind of a scary, morbid thing to discuss, but, I mean, maybe to some extent when I went to jail and being in that place, that was really terrifying for me.”

Lindsay went on to say that she thinks substance abuse can rob people of their talent and keep them in denial. “I’ve experienced things like that… and it’s a really sad factor that can come into play in people’s lives sometimes if you don’t recognize it. And a lot of people don’t like to, and I think I did that for a long time. I think I was scared and didn’t want to admit it to myself, let alone anyone else.”

As far as her career the star confirmed that she will be playing Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime biopic.
