Oops! She’s Doing It Again: Britney Spears Heads Towards Engagement
Britney Spears is the American sweetheart who got her start on the Mickey Mouse Club, explored her budding sexuality with her first album that included hits that featured her in schoolgirl-seductress skirts and knee-highs, and finally danced sexually with an albino python on an MTV awards show. She achieved success all before having two children, a failed Las Vegas marriage to an old school chum, and experiencing a messy divorce from her childrens’ father, Kevin Federline. By this time, the still-young Britney was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, in which she shaved her head and checked into rehab. Things were quiet on the Britney Spears front for a couple of years, and when she emerged, she emerged as a whole woman, a devoted mother, and a serious music artist.
However, Britney’s hard-won maturity appears to have finally paid off: She’s smitten with a new man, who seems to be liked by all who encounter him, including Britney’s sons, whom she shares custody of with Kevin Federline. Her new beau was introduced to her by an assistant in November, and by December, they were taking Christmas Eve pictures in matching pajamas and posting them on Instagram. There’s even talk that Britney ended a Las Vegas business stint because she wanted to get serious about family and possibly having another baby.
So who is the new guy? His name is Charlie Ebersol, a dark-haired handsome guy who seems content to work behind the scenes of Britney’s fame. The two got serious very quickly, with her introducing him to her sons, him moving into her estate, and numerous Instagram updates that consistently show an enamored couple. Sources close to them say the natural next progression for the duo is engagement, as Britney has expressed serious interest in having the stability of a family again.
Reportedly, plans for the wedding are already underway. Although it’s Britney’s third walk down the aisle, it’s only Ebersol’s first, and she wants to make the day magical and perfect for him. She also wants the wedding to take place in her native home state of Louisiana, not the busy LA scene, according to OK! magazine. Britney and Charlie have been traveling back and forth from Vegas to LA throughout the relationship, and Charlie also supported Britney through her brief stint in rehab last fall, said to be related to “exhaustion.”
Perhaps Britney will get her “happily ever after” after all — a situation that did not seem promising at all five years ago. This perhaps will inspire other wayward, struggling young artists like Lindsay Lohan to not give up, keep pursuing your love, keep trying to get better. Best of luck to Britney and Charlie!
