FedEx Truck Crashes into NY Amish Buggy, Leaves 3 Hospitalized

Two young Amish children were in critical condition Tuesday after their horse-drawn buggy was hit from behind by a FedEx truck on road in northern New York.

According to authorities, the accident happened around 2:30pm Monday on Route 37 in the town of Massena, on the Canadian border in St. Lawrence County.

Troopers say two Amish women each had two of their children in the buggy when it was rear-ended by the FedEx truck. Of the six passengers in the buggy, police said two 3-year-old children are in critical condition in a Syracuse hospital and one of the mothers is at the same hospital with a possible spinal injury.

The other woman and two children riding in the buggy were treated and released, according to reports. The FedEx truck driver and his passenger were also uninjured.

No one involved in the crash has been identified at this time and the cause of the accident still remains under investigation.
