Watch Boston Red Sox Vs. Philadelphia Phillies Live Online: Streaming Video Of Interleague Showdown

Watch live online Wednesday as the Boston Red Sox visit the Philadelphia Phillies in the second game of the 2015 Major League Baseball season for both teams — and a game that will see two starting pitchers make their debuts for their new teams.

Details on how to watch the Boston Red Sox vs. Philadelphia Phillies live online from Citizen’s Bank Park in Philadelphia can be found below. The game is the second of a three-game interleague series between the two teams. Boston won the opener 8-0 behind five home runs, including two each from Dustin Pedroia and Hanley Ramirez.

For the Red Sox, Rick Porcello, acquired in the offseason in a trade for Cuban slugger Yoenis Cespedes and pitcher Alex Wilson, makes the first start of his career for any team other than the Detroit Tigers who drafted him in the first round back in 2007 out of Seton Hall Prep School in New Jersey.

But the Boston organization showed just how highly they think of the 26-year-old right-hander by announcing Monday that they’ve awarded Porcello an eye-opening four-year, $82 million contract extension, keeping him with the Red Sox through 2019.

The new contract also keeps Porcello with the Red Sox through his prime career years, and is almost certainly a shorter-term deal than the former Tiger would have commanded had he elected to hit the free agent market after 2015, as he would have been entitled to do.

“I knew the opportunity in entering free agency, but when I had first got to camp and saw the way, from ownership to Ben to the coaching staff and the players that were there, how everything was run from top to bottom, and the devotion to win a World Series here, I knew that as something I wanted particularly to be a part of it,” Porcello said on a media conference call Monday. “It wasn’t a very difficult decision for me at that point to stay here.”

He’ll get his first chance to show what he brings to the Red Sox rotation when he faces the Phillies in Wednesday night’s interleague game.

The Phillies send their own new acquisition, veteran journeyman Aaron Harang, to the mound against Boston. Signing a one-year $5 million deal, the 36-year-old Harang made Philadelphia the eighth organization of his now-14-year career.

Porcello put together the best year of his career in 2014, winning 15 games with a solid 3.43 ERA, and leading the American League with three complete game shutouts along the way.

With Harang, however, the Phillies are likely hoping that the veteran can fill in as many innings as possible to take the burden off a pitching staff that features Cole Hamels — and not much else.
