Is Eminem Heading To ‘Empire’? Producers Are Begging Rapper For Season 2

Is Eminem heading to FOX’s Empire? If Empire producers have it their way he will. During an appearance on Good Morning America one of Empire’s producers, Brian Grazer stopped by and was asked about season 2.

It looks like not only is Eminem a fan of the show, but Empire is after the Detroit rapper in a big way.

“Eminem, I know, loves our show. And I produced 8 Mile. I’m going to beg him to get on our show. He and Oprah Winfrey. Somehow I’m going to get one or both of them on our show.”

Oprah Winfrey’s appearance has all been confirmed by producer and creator Lee Daniels. Early in March the Inquisitr reported that Winfrey was offered a role on the show after rumors circulated that Daniels was interested in bringing her in board.

When Daniels was interviewed by Access Hollywood, he revealed that Oprah will be in season 2. Since Empire wrapped their first season, it’s said that producers are getting their dream list together — of those people mentioned on the dream list, Winfrey, and rapper-actor Common have been approached. It’s not yet known whether or not Denzel Washington will be on season 2, but Daniels said having him would be another dream.

When we initially heard that Oprah was going to make her way to Empire, Winfrey had originally responded to the rumor with a joke. “I tell him: Lee, it’s not enough that you’ve taken every viewer possible on Wednesday night. Now you want me to leave my own network?”

As for Eminem, although his last acting project was his 2002 feature film 8 mile, where he played a character loosely based off of his life, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him make a minor return to acting.

Since playing Jimmy “B-Rabbit” Smith in 8 Mile, Eminem has played versions of himself in other projects like Funny People and The Interview. We can definitely see Eminem playing a version of himself on Empire, especially because it’s the biggest mainstream television project that has clued everyone into the hip hop scene.

That said, it seems like some people are against Eminem making an appearance on Empire.
