Teen Mom OG stars Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra gave their first daughter, Carly, up for adoption five years ago, and ever since, they have maintained a relationship with the child, as well as her adoptive parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis.
Unfortunately, what has typically been a civil relationship between the four adults, took a turn for the worse during filming on Teen Mom OG. In an OK! Magazine sneak peek of the show, via an April 6 Radar Online report, 23-year-old Baltierra was seen discussing an incident with the Davis family with his mother, Kim.
After revealing he had shared a photo collage of Carly online, Baltierra told Kim in the Teen Mom OG preview that he “got in trouble” with Carly’s parents. According to Baltierrra, the Davis family was “very upset, very.”
For Baltierra, he feels that because he created the child, she feels, at times, that he deserves the right to share photos of her when he pleases. Lowell, on the other hand, feels the family has the right to put their foot down when it comes to what she and Baltierra share with their many fans online.
“I don’t care if the world can’t see her. I get to, my family gets to, that’s all that matters. Why jeopardize that over something small?”
Lowell also added, in the Teen Mom OG sneak peek, that she and Baltierra have no rights to Carly after giving her up for adoption in 2009.
“We signed everything away. We don’t have any rights at all! They want Carly to be her own person. As long as I have a relationship with her, I don’t give a s–t about anything else!”
Lowell said that because she and her family are able to see Carly yearly, and stay in touch with photos and letters, she is unconcerned about what she is able to share with fans.
Brandon and Teresa Davis want Carly to be their own child, not someone known for their reality television ties, so when it comes to social media and publicity, they aren’t on board.
As the Inquisitr reported earlier this year, the Teen Mom OG stars were said to be on the outs with the Davis family, but a short time later, Lowell claimed things between them had settled down since filming on Teen Mom OG.
“All the c–p of ppl saying that Carlys parents are taking away communication from ty and I are all lies! Don’t always believe what u read!” she wrote on Twitter, according to an International Business Times report.
Teen Mom OG airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. on MTV. Below is a sneak peek at tonight’s new episode of Teen Mom OG, featuring Lowell and Baltiera.
