Katy Perry Spends $50,000 On Cooking Classes

Pop Star Katy Perry must have some really impressive mouths to feed. According to Us Weekly, Perry got into a bidding war with New York Giants Co-Owner Stephen Tisch for the 20th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party on Sunday night. The prize they were bidding for was the services of Iron Chef Cat Cora, and she was offering in house cooking lessons.

Witnesses told Us Weekly that,

“Neil Patrick Harris was beat boxing while chef Cat Cora and David Burka sang ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ to sell a cooking experience during the auction,”

All of the party attendees watching saw Perry bid $50,000 and Tisch immediately counter with an offer of $80,000. The two bidders agreed to split the prize and give the foundation $100,000 for the lessons.

Witnesses said,

“Katy got up and hugged [Tisch] delightedly. She seemed a bit tipsy, but not messy at all,”

All of the proceeds for the ridiculously expensive cooking lessons go to John’s AIDS Foundation where they are helping find a cure for HIV/AIDS.

While Katy was partying at the Oscars yesterday, her ex-husband Russell Brand stepped out in West Hollywood with rumored new girlfriend Oriela Medellin.

Katy didn’t seem to be bothered at all by the idea that Brand was dating again.
