Jessica Simpson Sells Stake: Jessica Is Excited For ‘The Next Billion,’ Only Owns 50 Percent Stake In Her Brand

Jessica Simpson sold a stake in her company, but is looking forward to more success in the fashion world nonetheless. According to Yahoo! News, the singer recently sold a 50 percent stake in the Jessica Simpson Collection to the Sequential Brands Group. Simpson is still in control of the other 50 percent of the company and still has plans to continue designing and doing what she loves to do.

Her decision to sell was likely a smart business move for her, but with half of the stake still in her name, fans hope that not much will change on the product front.

Jessica Simpson’s decision to sell half her stake in her company comes after 10 years of incredible success. What started off as a shoe line has transformed into something much bigger than anyone could have ever predicted, perhaps not even Jessica herself. According to Us Weekly, the company brings in $1 billion dollars each year. The 34-year-old mother of two is passionate about her line and says that she’s committed to the company.

“I am extremely honored to partner with Sequential Brands Group to continue the growth and integrity of the Jessica Simpson Collection. Working together with the powerful management team at Sequential and with all of our trusted retailers and licensees, including Camuto Group, there is no limit to our success. I’m as committed as I was ten years ago. Here’s to the next billion,” Simpson said in a statement.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Simpson is looking to expand her brand and to bring her items to markets in additional countries. There doesn’t seem to be an end in site for her brand, and she has a positive outlook on the future. Of course, Simpson can afford to rely solely on her fashion empire, which makes life that much easier for her at this point.

“It’s humbling to think that we now have 31 product categories in the collection. Together with my mom, Tina, and the rest of the JS team, we are always looking for new ways to reach our consumers. I have a passion for home design, so I’m excited to expand on our home and lifestyle offerings. I also look forward to further developing our e-commerce site and taking our brand all over the world.”

It doesn’t sound like new music is in Jessica’s immediate future. She is happy with what she’s doing in life, and she’s making things happen on her terms.
