Biker Gang Fugitive Arrested: Hells Angel Murder Suspect Surrenders in California

Hells Angel Steve Ruiz gave himself up this weekend after leading police on a widespread manhunt. Police believe that Ruiz shot and killed Steve Tausan at the funeral of Jeffrey “Jethro” Pettigrew, who was killed at another biker gang related shooting.

Pettigrew was killed at a Nevada casino when a fight broke out between the Hells Angels and the Vagos biker gang. At Pettigrew’s funeral, a fight broke out between Hells Angels members which resulted in the death of Steve Tausan on October 15th. The fight allegedly started when Tausan blamed Ruiz for Pettigrew’s death. Ruiz allegedly pulled a gun during the scuffle and shot and killed Tausan.

Police have been looking for Ruiz since October and found him last night at a motel in Fremont, California.

MSNBC reports that police surrounded the motel. The police then asked the front desk to call Ruiz’ room and to ask him to surrender. Ruiz did without incident.

Police did not say how they found Ruiz at the hotel.

Ruiz was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail. A court date has not been set yet.
