Fans can watch the Kentucky vs. Wisconsin game live online and see if the Badgers have what it takes to stop Kentucky’s unbeaten season, or if the Wildcats will sail on to the 2015 NCAA title game.
Start time for the Final Four matchup is 8:49 p.m. from Indianapolis.
So far Kentucky has run up a 38-o record, surviving their biggest scare of the season to beat Notre Dame and advance to the Final Four. They are trying to become the first unbeaten college team since the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers, but Wildcats head coach John Calipari knows that there is only one game that matters right now.
“Everybody is 0-0,” Calipari said. “Whether you’re Duke, Michigan State, Wisconsin or us, everybody’s record is the same. We’re all feeling the same thing. We all want to win a national title.”
While Calipari is quick to note that Kentucky is “unbeaten, not perfect,” the Wildcats have simply found a way to win this year. When they found themselves trailing to Notre Dame last week, Kentucky had a sense of desperation, noted Aaron Harrison.
“Last week, I think we did feel it more than usual because the other games that [were close] weren’t the end of our season or life or death,” Harrison told Newsday. “I don’t think we played well against Notre Dame at all. At the end of the game, we came together and said we didn’t play well enough to deserve to win, but we figured out ways to win. Karl pretty much carried us that game. That’s the benefit of being on a great team.”
Fans who watch the Kentucky vs. Wisconsin game live online will see a rematch of last year’s tournament semifinal. Last year Kentucky defeated Wisconsin in the Final Four, notching a one-point victory that propelled them into the championship game against UConn.
Badgers center Frank Kaminsky said he is using last year’s loss as motivation for this year’s rematch.
“It’s obviously motivating because you want to come back to this stage,” Kaminsky said. “This is what seasons are remembered for. You remember the national champion at the end of the season.”
The enormity of the game isn’t lost one any of the players, Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan said.
“Do you think I have to tell my players that this is a big game or that Kentucky’s pretty good?” he said. “They are. I think our guys are astute enough to figure that part out.”
