Avril Lavigne In Talks To Become X Factor Judge

Avril Lavigne is currently in talks to become the next judge on Fox’s hit show X Factor. According to inside sources the Complicated singer is being scouted because of her relationship to L.A. Reid who helped the young singer get her start.

Sources close to the singers negotiations revealed to TMZ that it was Avril who had her people reach out to X Factor producers to let them know that she would love the opportunity to become one of the judges taking over for the fired Paula Abdul or Nicole Scherzinger.

That same source says Avril liked the idea of mentoring other singers since she came up in the industry at such a young age. Avril apparently feels that growing and learning in the business from her teenage years into adulthood could be of great benefit to X Factor contestants.

If the rumor is correct both sides are already in talks that could lead to contract negotiations and Avril Lavigne eventually joining X Factor as a judge.

Furthering speculation is the fact that Avril Lavigne already has ties with the show, last season she performed on the finale show with finalist Chris Rene.
