Teresa Giudice reportedly bumped The Real Housewives of New York City cast off of the cover of Us Weekly. On the latest issue, the former Real Housewives of New Jersey star was seen in her prison clothes with her family, but according to a report, the cover was supposed to featured the New York City cast, whose seventh season premieres next week.
On April 3, the New York Daily News‘ Confidenti@l reported that Bravo had been angling to get the stars of The Real Housewives of New York City on this week’s Us Weekly cover in an effort to drum up publicity for the upcoming premiere. However, at the same time, Teresa Giudice’s lawyer was reportedly working with the magazine in hopes of getting her on the cover, which was what ultimately happened.
“Bravo is currently casting the new season and Teresa wants to prove she still sells,” the Confidenti@l insider explained.
The insider went on to claim that Bravo had been in talks with Us Weekly for two weeks, and even set up a cast photo shoot, before they were booted in lieu of Teresa Giudice’s family prison photo.
Us Weekly’s favoritism of Teresa Giudice is reportedly just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of New York City. According to the insider, Bravo wants Season 7 to be big, but it’s not looking like that’s going to happen.
“This is a make or break season for the New York franchise. Bethenny’s big return was supposed to get all this media response, but it’s been underwhelming.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Teresa Giudice’s prison photos garnered her family a $75,000 paycheck. In an interview with Radar Online earlier this week, a source spoke out about the photo shoot, telling the site Teresa Giudice and her family were desperate for cash.
“It was staged in the prison using a service where inmates can take photos with family each Sunday. The family desperately needs the money and Teresa had no problem with using her family to make a few extra bucks while she’s behind bars — she’s shameless!”
Teresa Giudice will be released from custody in early 2016.
