‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Spoilers: How Will Meredith React To Amelia And Owen’s Relationship?
Life is complicated for the Shepherd siblings on Grey’s Anatomy right now (for Amelia more than Derek, even though he has to adjust to being home), but even though there could easily be some competition at work, with Amelia now head of neuro, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Instead, it seems like Derek’s competitive side may not be a factor moving forward at the hospital.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, after Meredith called Derek’s phone and a woman answered, Derek returned home to talk to his wife. He ultimately decided to stay, and the latest Grey’s Anatomy episode was his first full one back at home and at work. While Meredith couldn’t be happier to have him home, Amelia did worry how he would settle in with her as his boss, but as Derek revealed, he’s over needing to change the world by doing something like the job in D.C. He’s perfectly happy dealing with aneurysms and coaching soccer practice; that’s what he knows will make him happy at the moment.
Derek and Amelia also had a heart-to-heart about their family and their history of running.
“We are runners. I ran from my engagement, you ran from Addison. I think, after Dad, when something scares us, we sprint.”
That conversation is also when Amelia told Derek about her and Owen’s relationship, and she admitted that she’s afraid of what it could do to her.
“I think I’m falling in love with Owen Hunt. I’m really afraid that it’s going to destroy me.”
“It wouldn’t be love if it didn’t,” Derek said in reply.
Is Amelia right to be worried about what could happen? Well, Meredith seems to be concerned as well – but not necessarily for Amelia – as you can see in the promo for next week’s Grey’s Anatomy Season 11 Episode 19, “Crazy Love,” which begins with a look back at the show’s first episode, which will be airing at 8 p.m. Amelia and Owen’s secret is out, but is it also going to be the beginning of the end of their relationship?
“I can’t do this,” Amelia tells Owen. “This is a mistake.”
Is Meredith really worried that Amelia is going to ruin Owen, or is the promo just cut to make it look like that?
If you’re looking for more about how Meredith will react to Amelia and Owen’s relationship, given Owen’s past with Cristina, Caterina Scorsone told the Hollywood Reporter that her sister-in-law does have a “strong” opinion.
“Meredith definitely has some strong feelings about Amelia and Owen’s relationship. Amelia really didn’t know much about Cristina. She may have met her in passing, but she didn’t know much about the relationship between Owen and Cristina and how significant that was. Amelia came to Seattle when Cristina was leaving so she missed out on a lot of that backstory. But Meredith has some very strong feelings about this relationship and Amelia is in this pink cloud of new love or new affection.”
In other Grey’s Anatomy news, with the season nearing its end, everyone of course wants to know if there will be some big, crazy event in the finale, but based on what Kevin McKidd told Entertainment Weekly, there may not be because of the episodes before it.
“In the episodes leading up to the finale, there’s some pretty big stuff happening. Maybe it will be a quiet finale because there is some pretty seismic stuff happening as we lead up to the finale.”
