Soon-to-be new father Derick Dillard has confirmed on the Dillard Family’s official blog that Jill is in labor. This means that the newest Duggar grandbaby will be making an entrance anytime now. However, Derick used the birth process to describe something unexpected — the end times. The doting father says that labor and the process of giving birth are much like the coming apocalypse.
As the Inquisitr reported this morning, Derick Dillard left a cryptic message on Twitter which indicated that Jill had either given birth to Baby Dilly or was in the laboring process. Just moments ago, Dillard confirmed via the Dillard Family blog that Jill is in fact in labor. Derick titled the blog post, “Jill’s Labor and My Understanding of the Bible.” Derick is watching as Jill experiences the labor process for the first time and says it reminds him of what God says about the “end times” in the bible.
“Jesus Christ used parables and everyday events as a means by which to teach people life principles. In Matthew 24, Jesus uses the pictures of both a laboring mother and a budding fig tree in spring to relate to people how events surrounding the last days of earth – “end times events” (i.e. famine, wickedness, false teaching, rumors of war, the testimony of Jesus going to all the world) will transpire. Until this point in my life, I mostly just went to the “lesson of the fig tree” for my understanding of these “end times” events. But now, I can more fully understand what Jesus meant when he related these events to ‘birth pains.'”
Derick says that he is witnessing first-hand those birth pains and how they could relate as a parable to the “end times.” He says that labor pains come and go sporadically before getting closer together and more consistent. Dillard notes that this is exactly the same as the foretold events that will lead to the apocalypse.
“It’s important to remember that we don’t know when he will be born, but we can definitely see the evidence that points to his imminent arrival, whenever that might be. This is the perfect picture of how ‘end times’ events will play out.”
In other words, birth pains are a reflection of the pains the world will experience as the end times approach. However, instead of a new baby entering the world, Jesus will reveal himself after the pains.
“Now that I’m about to be a dad, I find it quite interesting that Jesus related the end of the world to the event of birth. And it’s easy to relate to because as much as Jill and I want to know when this birth will happen, the day and the hour of baby dilly’s birth is definitely unknown.”
What do you think about Derick Dillard’s comparison of the birth and labor process to the “end times”? Are you excited that the Duggar grandbaby is finally making his appearance?
