Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber: ‘Full House’ Spinoff, ‘Fuller House’, Coming To Netflix

Candace Cameron Bure’s former character D.J. Tanner may soon be revived in a spinoff of Full House.

TVLine reports that Netflix is very close to ordering Fuller House, a 13-episode continuation of the ’90s family-favorite television show that will star Bure and Andrea Barber as her BFF Kimmy Gibler.

The site also notes that John Stamos (Uncle Jesse Katsopolis), Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), and Dave Coulier (Uncle Joey Gladstone) are being eyed for guest appearances. Stamos may also hold a producer role alongside the show’s creator Jeff Franklin, and executive producers Thomas L. Miller and Robert L. Boyett. So far, there is no word on whether Jodie Sweeten (Stephanie Tanner) or the Olson twins (Michelle Tanner) will be making appearances.

“I know John [Stamos], and Bob [Saget] and Dave [Coulier] did Jimmy Fallon, like a reunion skit on there, which was really funny,” Candace told TooFab.com during a recent interview. “We’ve all kind of done little things here and there just poking fun or throwing back to ‘Full House’ which has been cool. If it’s a good opportunity or a good place to do that, I think we all would do that. I would do that and have fun with it!”

Since Full House wrapped its eighth season in 1995, Candace has been busy raising her three children. She has also continued to act, starring in several Hallmark films and ABC Family’s series Make It Or Break It. She also showcased her dancing moves as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

Barber has been spending her time since the finale raising her children. She has pretty much remained on a hiatus from Hollywood and has made few appearances since her role as Kimmy ended.

Bure says the cast has stayed as close as ever over the past 20 years.

“We get together pretty regularly,” Candace said. “We’ve been close for so many years, so you know it’s nothing new for us, but it’s always exciting for fans to see.”

D.J. and Kimmy’s friendship even transferred to real life. “Here’s 2 one of the best & longest friendships in T.V. history! D.J. & Kimmy Forever!! Last weekend’s #ToughMudder #ToughMothers #Ziploc #FullHouseFamily You’re my rockstar race partner @andreabarber,” Bure captioned an Instagram photo that she shared several days before the spinoff news broke.

Bure’s latest film A Bone To Pick: An Aurora Teagarden Mystery will be airing on Saturday, April 4 on the Hallmark Channel.
