Agyness Deyn’s Name Explained!

Agyness Deyn’s name isn’t just plucked from the Unusual Name pile. . . it was supposedly conceived by “Britain’s only professional name analyst” Laurence Y Payg, who “reads” names and suggests changes in them for specific personal and professional benefit.

In a slightly out-there piece in The Telegraph, Payg claims that he helped Deyn (born Laura Hollins) rocket to supermodel stardom through a surname with the “value” of 21 and the important letter “G” to “ensure financial and emotional gains.

“Soon after her name change, Agyness’s career sky-rocketed. Absolutely nothing else about her circumstances changed: she stayed with the same agency, kept her hairstyle, her look, and yet everything suddenly changed.”

If it’s true, I hope that Payg also mixed in some relationship luck for Agyness, who recently broke up with her guitarist boyfriend Josh Hubbard and is rumored to be dating another musician type.

I wonder how my name stacks up? Uh-oh, I’m such a sucker for this stuff. At least I know I’m in good company, right?
