Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin Celebrate One Year Anniversary Of ‘Conscious Uncoupling’ With Holiday Together

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow don’t have the most orthodox of relationships. So it’s hardly surprising to see that the pair celebrated the year anniversary of their split by going on holiday together.

According to E! Online, the actress and musician were photographed on a trip in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They were there on Spring Break with their children, 10-year-old Apple and 8-year-old Moses.

The 42-year-old Paltrow and 38-year-old Martin were married for 10 years before they separated in March 2014, while there’s not been much news regarding their divorce since.

Paltrow announced their decision to split on her lifestyle website, GOOP. The passage that confirmed the demise of their relationship was entitled “Conscious Uncoupling,” and it explained that Martin and Paltrow had “been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between [them].”

When this period ended unsuccessfully they decided to remain apart. In the letter, Paltrow explained that she would remain close to Martin so that the situation didn’t overly effect their children.

And they’ve done just that. In fact, just one week after their split was announced the pair were spotted together in the Bahamas on holiday, where they looked completely at ease with each other.

However, during an interview with Howard Stern in January, Paltrow admitted that the conscious uncoupling had encountered several bumps along the way.

Even though she insisted that they have a “really strong friendship” and they “laugh” and have “fun,” she conceded, “There are times when it’s really difficult and things happen and… I’m sure he doesn’t want to hang out with me and I don’t want to hang out with him.” Paltrow restated that their main commitment is to their children though.

Since their split both the Oscar-winning actress and Coldplay singer have started new relationships. Martin was previously linked to 24-year-old Jennifer Lawrence, while Paltrow is believed to be dating the co-creator of American Horror Story and Glee, Brad Falchuk.
