Taylor Invites Cancer-Stricken Fan to ACM Awards

In what might possibly be the most adorable invite in the world of celebrities mixing with their fans, Taylor Swift invited cancer stricken Kevin McGuire to the ACM Awards via her personal Facebook.

For the second time the boy is battling Leukemia. At first McGuire had his sights set on the prom, which falls on his birthday this year. The boy’s sister even pitched in a hand and started a group on the social networking site titled “Taylor Swift take KEVIN MCGUIRE TO PROM!” Miraculously over a few days 85,000 people joined the group adding attention to the cause.

Before Taylor decided to invite Kevin to the ACM Awards there was no word from the country singer or her representation whether or not she had heard about the wish, or if she privately turned him down. However, one announcement, or rather invitation on her Facebook sealed the fate of the boy’s wish.

Taylor left the following message for her fan Kevin: “Kevin, I’m so sorry but I won’t be able to make it to your prom. But I was wondering, the ACM Awards are coming up.. Would you be my date? Love, Taylor”.

In the past celebrities mingling with fans has caught on as sort of a fad, and why wouldn’t it? A lucky fan gets his or her wish, and it can be seen as good press for the said celebrity. In the last year Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis both got invited and went to corporal marines balls with their marine dates after they asked their out separately on Youtube. Even Justin Bieber treated an ill six year old girl to a fun time, posing for pictures and spending the day with her via The Jimmy Fund.

As of right now Kevin is hospitalized due to his condition, but here’s hoping her answer makes him feel better!
