WWE News: Update On ‘RAW’ Announce Team — Will They Be Back For Next Week’s Show?

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar went absolutely crazy on this past week’s RAW, as he completely destroyed everyone in sight, including the RAW announce team. Later in the show, after Stephanie McMahon announced that Brock Lesnar was indefinitely suspended, Michael Cole’s fill-in, Byron Saxton, announced that Cole had suffered a “cervical spine injury.” Following the announcement, many people believed that Cole would be off of WWE television for at least a month. Well, if you were thinking that, think again! As Cole will be back doing play-by-play on next week’s show.

Earlier today, WWE.com gave an update on the entire RAW announce team, and the update said that not only will Michael Cole return next week, but JBL and Booker T will be returning as well. You can check out the updates below.

First up, Michael Cole:

“After being sent to a local medical facility on Monday night, Michael Cole requested to go home for evaluation by his own doctors. Earlier today, he was diagnosed with a bulging disc at the C6/C7 level. In addition, he has been experiencing severe neck, back and right shoulder pain.

“Cole confirmed that he will be back at the announce booth on ‘RAW’ this Monday. While he would not comment on legal action, sources close to the voice of WWE state that he met with attorneys to discuss a possible lawsuit against Lesnar.”

Now, JBL:

“JBL left Monday Night Raw feeling some pain in his abdomen but, as a veteran of the ring, figured it wasn’t any more serious than anything he had experienced before.

“However, he explained to WWE.com that he then woke in the middle of the night in excruciating pain and went to a local medical facility, where he was diagnosed with an abdominal wall tear. As a result, he had to undergo surgery on Tuesday and will rest at his home in Bermuda. He also confirmed that he will be at ‘Monday Night Raw.'”

Lastly, Booker T:

“As a direct result of Lesnar’s assault, Booker T suffered contusions and general soreness, but no other injuries. The WWE Hall of Famer also confirmed that he, too, will be at ‘RAW.'”

So, it looks like the entire RAW commentary team was able to survive the wrath of Brock Lesnar. There was some speculation that WWE would bring back Jim Ross to temporarily replace Michael Cole, but with Cole returning on Monday, a Ross return is extremely doubtful.

There were plans to have Byron Saxton fill in for Cole over the next couple of weeks, but after his poor performance on this past Monday’s show, WWE decided to bring Cole back immediately. It’s likely that he’ll be wearing some sort of neck brace throughout the entire show.

So, if you were one of the people hoping to see the RAW announce team return to the table immediately, then this is great news for you!
