Heroin-Dealing Mom Who Sold Drugs With Her Kids In The Car Gets Jail Time

A 35-year-old drug-dealing mom has been sentenced to jail after being caught by undercover cops selling heroin from her car while her two kids sat in the back seat.

Stacey Sherwood, who was convicted of selling the illegal drug in the parking lot of a supermarket, was spotted by officers who went to use the facilities in the supermarket.

At least one male druggie approached the car and handed over $40 for three packs of heroin.

During Sherwood’s trial at the Teesside Crown Court in Britain, Judge Edward Bindloss told her, “That is not an example you should be setting to either of your children.”

After the cops saw what Sherwood was up to, they approached her car and found cash in her lap, while a buyer was caught with the heroin, red handed.

Back in 2009 and 2010, Sherwood was given a three-year sentence for supplying class A drugs after she returned to using heroin due to post-natal depression.

The judge told Sherwood in court, “I’m satisfied on the evidence this was an isolated incident. Your case is so serious that only a custodial sentence is justified,” jailing her for three-and-a-half years.

Sherwood’s defense lawyer, Robert Mochrie, said a statement in the client’s defense.

“She has struggled with heroin addiction for many, many years. It now transpires that she was in fact under the influence of heroin during the trial. It comes as no surprise, as is often the case, that after spending a few weeks in prison, she looks better for it and feels better for it. No doubt this was a woman who must have been supplying to assist with her own deeply entrenched habit, a typical but sorry tale.”

It remains to be seen whether or not Sherwood will be able to turn her life around from the brink of disaster, as she looks at being without her children, aged 9 and 2, for the foreseeable future.
