Zayn Malik Solo Single: Naughty Boy Releases ‘I Won’t Mind’ On SoundCloud, Fans Go Crazy On Twitter

Zayn Malik’s new single has been released on SoundCloud. Fans can now expect what the former One Direction Brit will sound like on his solo album. Naughty Boy released Zayn’s single “I Won’t Mind” on SoundCloud on Monday night. Some news sites are reporting that it was Zayn himself who released the single, but it was actually leaked on music producer, Naughty Boy’s Twitter account.

He first tweeted a link to Zayn Malik’s new solo song titled “I Won’t Mind.” Naughty Boy then said on his Twitter account on Monday night: “Let the music do the talking guys. Thank us later.” Meaning, the fans should thank Naughty Boy for making Zayn Malik even more famous than he already is.

Malik’s new single doesn’t give hints of R&B like previous reports have said. It doesn’t even feature the singer rapping. Instead, it sounds like a folk-pop tune with an acoustic guitar playing, as noted by the Sydney Morning Herald. Malik’s new solo song includes lyrics like, “I won’t mind even though I know you’ll never been mind” and “Cause we are who we are when no one’s watching.” His new single is kind of sweet and somber. However, it can be difficult to hear what Malik’s trying to sing in his new song.

Zayn’s new song also includes the following line: “When someone makes you the happiest person and the saddest person, at the same time, that’s when it’s real. That’s when it’s worth something.” Some fans are wondering if the lyrics have to do with Zayn’s alleged cheating and his relationship with Perrie Edwards.

The Telegraph had some interesting words to share about Zayn’s solo single.

“I Won’t Mind is certainly a departure from the catchy arena pop hits Malik made with One Direction, such as the rousing Story of My Life, on which he has a writing credit, and distances him from the RnB singer label he had in the band. It sounds more like a demo than a fully polished song, a dollop of acoustic whimpering which is inoffensively listenable, if not memorable.”

DesiBlitz reported that Malik’s solo song is getting over 2 million plays and 14,000 likes on SoundCloud. It sounds like Malik could have a solo career since fans are paying attention. The song has even been trending worldwide on Twitter.

Naughty Boy also released a fan-made video saying that the musical duo “Zaughty” will rise. In the video, a robotic voice sings, “Naughty Boy saved my life…Zaughty will rise,” repeatedly. Some fans found the video rather creepy.

Not all fans are taking kindly to Zayn Malik’s solo single though. Some have taken to Twitter to express their outrage over his new song. Some fans are also declaring war on the former One Direction singer, while others love hearing his voice alone.

Victoria Mo tweeted: “All of this stuff recently and then the release of ‘I Won’t Mind’ makes me question if all 5 years to Zayn was a lie or if it’s just this year.”

Another fan said: “I can’t stop listening to ‘I Won’t Mind,’ Zayn’s voice calms me down so much and it’s such a beautiful song.”

So much for being a “normal 22-year-old.” Zayn Malik announced on Wednesday, March 25 that he was leaving One Direction due to the pressures of dealing with the spotlight. Now, it looks like he’s working on his solo album with Naughty Boy. One Direction immediately removed Malik from their official concert footage, as previously reported on the Inquisitr. The guys wasted no time as they wiped their hands clean of the singer.

What your thoughts on Zayn Malik’s solo single? Do you think he has what it takes to make it on his own?
