Obama Sings the Blues With Mick Jagger, B.B. King, Buddy Guy [Video]

Barack Obama isn’t afraid to sing in front of a crowd. Last month he sang some Al Green at the Apollo Theater and last night the POTUS joined Mick Jagger and B.B. King to sing some blues.

The Times Union reports that The East Room of the White House was turned into an intimate blues club last night featuring an all-star jam with blues legends like Mick Jagger, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck and B.B. King

Obama was enjoying the concert when Jagger handed him a microphone and asked him to sing “Sweet Home Chicago.” And apparently, it was an offer Obama couldn’t refuse.

Obama said at the event:

“This music speaks to something universal. No one goes through life without both joy and pain, triumph and sorrow. The blues gets all of that, sometimes with just one lyric or one note. “

The blues concert at the White House will be part of a new PBS series that will air on Monday. The “In Performance at the White House” series was designed to recognize Black History Month.

Here’s the video of Obama singing “Sweet Home Chicago.” (Obama starts singing toward the end of the video.)

What did you think? Did Obama do a better job singing Al Green or “Sweet Home Chicago?” Do you think the POTUS will be releasing records after his presidency is over?

Here’s the full video of Obama’s performance.
