Jamie Lee Curtis Brings Big Audience to NCIS

Did you watch Jamie Lee Curtis on NCIS last night? If you didn’t, you’ll have your chance next week as Dr. Samantha Ryan will return to the show to help Gibbs uncover the truth behind a possible Navy suicide.

Curtis brought in a big audience for NCIS last night. According to the Orlando Sentinel, last night’s episode had more than 311,000 viewers (more than both American Idol episodes last week) in the Orlando TV market alone. (National numbers will be available later this morning.)

With Curtis giving the show a ratings boost, some viewers are expecting NCIS to flesh out Curtis’ relationship with Mark Harmon’s character Special Agent Gibbs. And it doesn’t seem like Curtis would mind. The “True Lies” star acted with Harmon in “Freaky Friday” and really enjoys working with him. Curtis said:

“I’m very fond of (Harmon) and he’s very fond of me. That’s just a given, I’m not going to lie to you and say this is a horrible, difficult job to [work] with him. I’m happy to have it, I’m happy to be here. I’m not going to say anything more than that. He makes me blush a little bit, because he’s such a sweet guy.”

Curtis also said that she wouldn’t mind returning to TV full time. She didn’t say that she wanted to stay on NCIS but she seems open to the idea of finding a permanent television role. Curtis told BlogZap2it:

“I’ve raised my children and so I could clearly see myself doing more regular work now because my youngest is 15-and-a-half and the last person he wants to see is me. I think I’ve done my job right. He wants nothing to do with me.”
