Scott Disick Determined To Stay Sober, But What Are His Chances?
It’s no secret that Scott Disick has had trouble with hard partying and alcohol addiction in recent years. When he entered a rehab facility in Costa Rica, it finally seemed like Disick had admitted he needed help managing his addiction. Those hopes seemed dashed last week, when Disick walked away from the rehab facility after only one week. Disick has publicly committed to staying sober and returning to the rehab facility at a later date, but with epic parties being part of his job description and near membership into the most drama-filled family in history, what are the chances that Scott Disick can stay sober?
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Scott Disick never planned to spend more than one week in Costa Rica, despite CDC recommendations of 90-day rehab stays. While sources spun the original story as Disick abandoning rehab to meet club hosting obligations, it seems that Disick had accounted for his obligations when planning his rehab stay.
In an interview with People Magazine, Disick explained his actions.
“I wanted to actually Instagram or tweet a photo of my tickets that showed that I never intended to stay any longer than I stayed … I’m a work in progress and anything that I can do to better myself, I’m trying.”
Most likely, Disick is relying on the psychoactive drug Ibogaine to aid him in his quest for sobriety. Fans of the long running television drama Law & Order: SVU, may recall Ibogaine as a plot device which enabled a heroin-addicted witness to testify against a cult leader. Ibogaine is a Schedule 1 illegal drug in the United States, meaning that it is considered to either have no medical benefit or to be too dangerous for use even under a doctor’s care.
While Ibogaine does have hallucinogenic properties, at least Scott Disick seems to think the drug is working. Disick hasn’t been spotted drinking alcohol since he received Ibogaine at the rehab clinic in Costa Rica, despite being surrounded by alcohol at hosting gigs and outing with friends.
Scott Disick may also be leaning more heavily on long time partner Kourtney Kardashian and her younger brother Rob Kardashian. Radar Online reports that Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick are leading separate lives and headed for a split, but the couple seems determined to shake that rumor.
Kourtney posted two posts to Instagram hinting at her commitment to Scott Disick.
The first was of gold earrings encrusted with diamonds that spell out M-P-R-S-D, for her children Mason, Penelope, and Reign and her partner, Scott.
