Kelly Rowland 70 Pounds Gone, Jessica Simpson 60 Pounds Banished: Celebrity Moms Share Weight Loss Tips [Video]

How did Kelly Rowland succeed in shedding 70 pounds just four months after giving birth? The singer took advantage of a few secret weapons. And just like Jessica Simpson, who shed 60 pounds after having her own babies, Kelly is now sharing all her weight loss secrets, reported ABC News.

For Rowland, spin class (also known as indoor cycling) proved to be the main key to burning off the calories. She took SoulCycle classes and enlisted celebrity trainer Jeanette Jenkins to help her.

“Jeanette Jenkins is the secret, SoulCycle is the secret. When I go in there and it’s the wee hours of the morning, she is a great secret — so motivational. Jeanette comes in with so much energy and this huge smile on her face, and you can’t help but to get excited about working out.”

In addition, Kelly revealed that she focused on eating right most of the time so that she could incorporate a few cheats into her diet.

“The 80/20 rule is all the way real, 80 percent of the time you eat those foods giving you nourishment, you’re eating clean, and 20 percent of the time, have guacamole, a ton of it like I do, and a margarita and maybe queso too!”

Just like Kelly, Jessica Simpson found help through a celebrity personal trainer. She chose Harley Pasternak, famed as the secret weapon of stars ranging from Katy Perry to Rihanna to Megan Fox, according to Yahoo.

For those baffled by just what Kelly might have eaten during that 80 percent healthy foods diet that she discussed, Harley keeps it simple.

“Each meal should include a protein that is the mass of your hand, a palm-full of a high fiber grain or a high fiber fruit, and then all the non-starchy veggies you want. You want to base your meal around the quality of protein, fiber and healthy fats. That’s the holy trinity.”

In addition, says Harley, you don’t have to run a marathon each day or spend hours in the gym to achieve your goals.

“I think as you become older it’s not about working harder, it’s about working smarter,” he emphasizes.

“Resistance exercise is paramount as you age, because it really is the fountain of youth. I think the older you get the less you can sit, you really have to be moving all day. Not intensity, you don’t need to do wind sprints, you don’t need to spin, just walk.”

For Jessica, Weight Watchers also made a dramatic difference in taking off the pounds, as the Inquisitr reported.

Jessica used Weight Watchers’ jump-start program. The plan emphasizes unlimited non-starchy vegetables combined with lean protein. She also enjoys the sugar-free desserts.

And Simpson swears by the benefits of working out, both in terms of training with Harley and walking four miles daily, which she tracks with a pedometer.
