Ed Sheeran And Girlfriend Athina Andrelos Call It Quits

Ed Sheeran may have one of the most romantic songs on Top 40 right now, but he’s not exactly living it up with his girlfriend. According to E!, Sheeran and girlfriend Athina Andrelos have decided to call it quits. The couple were dating for more than a year, but didn’t last the test of time.

The news of his split from Athina came out when the singer was interviewed by the Kyle And Jackie O Show. When he was asked about his status, he said, “I wasn’t single, I was in a relationship for a long time.”

The musician was surprised when the radio DJ pressed on his romantic life. Jackie Henderson asked, “Do you want to be single?”

The awkward moment continued when Sheeran responded, “Um. That’s interesting. That’s the first time I’ve spoken about that. I didn’t know you were going to ask.”

Kyle Sandilands broke the tension of the interview. “I didn’t even have it written down, I just wondered. I looked at you and thought, ‘He’s nice. I wonder if he’s with anyone?'” The split must have been recent because Andrelos, who works for chef Jamie Oliver, posted a photo of the two of them on Instagram for his birthday, which dates back to a month ago.

According to Perez Hilton, Athina had her concerns that the red-headed crooner was seeing other women on the side. In addition, Athina wasn’t too happy when Taylor Swift brought Ed up during her acceptance speech at the BRIT Awards, and that moment might have created a wedge between the two.

Back in 2014, Sheeran kept his cards close, but admitted that he was dating Andrelos. At the time, he told US Weekly that she “works for a good company — well not a food company, she works for a chef. We went to dinner in London.” As for introducing her to Swift, Sheeran said that Taylor “likes her.”

Before Sheeran dated Athina Andrelos, he was linked to singer Ellie Goulding.

Who do you think Ed Sheeran will date next? Will he finally get with Taylor Swift? Some fans are hoping for this pairing but we don’t see it happening.
