‘Teen Mom’ Wedding? Amber Portwood Reportedly Wants To Get Married On TV
Is a Teen Mom wedding in the works? According to a new report, Amber Portwood wants to get married on television.
“Amber really likes the idea of a TV wedding,” an insider told In Touch Weekly on March 25. “It’s going to be such a special moment in her life and Amber really wants to share it with her fans.”
The source claimed Portwood’s Teen Mom wedding would likely take place this fall, although it was unclear when the potential episode would air. And, if Portwood does go through with a Teen Mom wedding, she’ll get more than a taped ceremony — she’ll also get a check.
“She hopes MTV will film her wedding so that they can help her foot the bill.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Portwood’s potential Teen Mom wedding nearly didn’t happen. Following her released from prison in November, 2013, it was Gary Shirley who Portwood wanted to get back with. As she recently explained, Portwood wanted to keep her family together, and, at the time, felt Shirley was her best option.
“I wanted my family back together,” Portwood explained to TV Guide.
“When I realized Gary was with Christina, I realized that we didn’t have anything anymore and I was trying to make something out of nothing. And you see that your relationship is so toxic, and if you were together you’d be so unhappy.”
Portwood’s potential Teen Mom wedding may not be the only one fans see in the upcoming months. Also scheduled to tie the knot are Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan Magazine earlier this year, Lowell confirmed she and Baltierra would be getting married this August, and that she was looking forward to a possible Teen Mom wedding. However, at the time, no such thing had been confirmed.
“I’m hoping, but I have no clue.”
In the past, there have been a number of Teen Mom weddings featured on MTV.
On Teen Mom 2, both Kailyn Lowry and Leah Messer starred in their own Teen Mom wedding. Lowry was seen marrying Javi Marroquin, father of her youngest son, Isaac, in 2013, and Messer was seen tying the knot with Corey Simms, whom she later divorced.
If a Teen Mom wedding does happen on Teen Mom OG, it will certainly be exciting for fans. After all, they’ve followed both Portwood and Lowell for the last several years, on MTV’s 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom.
