Since Israeli actress Gal Gadot had been casted to play the role of DC Comics’ Wonder Woman, fans have been lashing out criticisms saying that the actress is not fitting for the part. However, Gadot smoothly responded to the blasts against her body.
“…they asked me here, in Israel, if I have eating disorders and why am I so skinny. They said my head was too big and my body was like a broomstick,” she said.
“It’s just empty talk. I understand that part of what I’m doing means being exposed. And part of being exposed is being under fire.”
Furthermore, Gadot added that it was difficult to deal with criticisms when she was younger but now, she just found them amusing.

Comic book fans who are familiar with the original character of Wonder Woman, also insisted that the former model’s breasts were too small. This particular body part came into discussion as the female superhero is depicted in comic books to have a shapely chest.
Gadot countered this criticism with an insightful response, “The true amazons had one boob so it won’t bother them with their archery. So it’s not going to be like real amazons. We always try to make everyone happy but we can’t.”
In spite of all the blasts, the movie’s director seemed to be happy with Gadot’s casting. Director Zack Snyder said that she is not only a good actress, but that she also possesses a “magical quality” that makes her the perfect fit for the role of Wonder Woman.
Gadot has also been talking about how ecstatic she is to play the role of the superhero. She recalled that she was on a flight to New York when she was awarded the part. Describing the wait to feel like torture, Gadot waited for a month and a half for the production’s decision. However, upon the plane’s landing, the actress got her answer.
“I get to play the strongest, most empowering woman ever – Wonder Woman. I’m so grateful and I thank God every day. I want to devour it and enjoy every bite,” she gleefully shared.
Gadot also played the role of Wonder Woman in the upcoming DC Entertainment/Warner Bros film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Moreover, she will also be taking on the role of the female superhero in a solo film handled by a female director.
