Hugh Grant Will Play Killer, Cannibal and Rapist In ‘Cloud Atlas’

Hugh Grant has agreed to play six different characters in the upcoming movie Cloud Atlas. Among the actors roles he will take on a killer, cannibal and rapist.

Cast alongside Jim Broadbent, Tom Hanks and Halley Berry the movie is an adaptation of David Mitchell’s novel of the same name.

To play his various roles he will be buried under “an awful lot of prosthetic make-up.”

Hugh Grant opened up about his roles in Empire:

“I have six cameo parts in this strange, ambitious film. I do a lot of killing and raping. I wear an awful lot of prosthetic make-up, too. You probably won’t know that I am in the film!”

The movie is being directed by the Wachowski brothers, best known for their work on the Matrix Trilogy and the stunning dud of a movie Speed Racer.

Grant talked about meeting with the Wachowski brothers and how he thought he would be nervous:

“But it was a laugh. I thought before I read it that I’d turn it down, which I normally do, but I was interested in meeting the Wachowskis because I have always admired them enormously. And they are so charming and fascinating.”

Cloud Atlas is currently set for an October.

I’m personally interested to see how well Hugh Grant can go from roles like Notting Hill and About A Boy to a role in which he wraps just about every type of evil character into a single movie.
