Cindy Crawford’s Daughter Puts Modeling Career on Hiatus, Mom Says She’s ‘Too Young’

Cindy Crawford’s daughter kicked off her modeling career earlier this year as part of the Young Versace Campaign. But it looks like Kaia’s modeling career will be put on hold. Kaia’s supermodel mother said today that her 10-year-old daughter was too young to start a career in the fashion world.

Cindy said:

“At this point, she’s too young to pursue a career. There aren’t even a handful of jobs for a 10-year-old girl…. But if she’s 17 and wants to try it, of course, what can I say?”

The news comes as a surprise since Cindy Crawford was initially supportive of Kaia’s modeling career. When Versace unveiled it’s Young Versace Campaign, Cindy said:

“I’m so thrilled that Kaia was chosen to be part of the first Young Versace Campaign. … I have so many fond memories of the times I spent with Gianni and Donatella.”

What do you think changed Cindy Crawford’s mind? Do you think that Kaia is too young to get involved in modeling?

Here’s an image from Kaia’s short-lived modeling career.

Donatella is probably a little upset that her 10-year-old model won’t be back for more Versace shoots. Donatella said:

“Like her mother, Kaia has a very special gift. The camera really, really loves her.”
