Jason Hoppy Is Exploring His Legal Options After Bethenny Frankel’s ‘WWHL’ Interview

Jason Hoppy isn’t happy about Bethenny Frankel’s recent interview on Watch What Happens Live. After the Real Housewives of New York City star opened up about their failed marriage on the Bravo late night show, she could be facing legal consequences.

According to a new report, Jason Hoppy is exploring his legal options after hearing Frankel’s revealing interview.

On March 23, Jason Hoppy’s attorney, Bernard Clair, told ABC News that “he and his client were more than a bit surprised and troubled over the personal and private details articulated by Ms. Frankel about the marriage and its demise, and that they were exploring their legal options.”

Frankel married Jason Hoppy in 2010, amid filming on their reality series, Bethenny Getting Married, a spinoff of The Real Housewives of New York City. At the time they wed, Frankel was pregnant with their first child, Bryn, who was born in March of that year.

At the end of 2012, following two additional seasons of their reality show, which was renamed Bethenny Ever After, Frankel and Jason Hoppy separated. Months later, they filed for divorce, both requesting custody of their daughter.

As ABC News reported, Frankel spoke candidly about her brief marriage to Jason Hoppy during an episode of Watch What Happens Live last week. On the show, Frankel noted she was the “breadwinner” in her marriage, and hinted Jason Hoppy had been negatively impacted by her fame.

“[It is hard] when the woman is the breadwinner. I think fame, attention, and money does not bring out the best in everybody. I think that money, in many ways, is the root of all evil.”

Also during her Watch What Happens Live interview, as reported by the Inquisitr, Frankel revealed she and boyfriend Michael “Mac” Cerussi were no longer dating.

“I’m not dating now. I mean I’ve been,” she explained, according to an Us Weekly report. “I wish that my dating life were as colorful and exciting as it’s written about, but right now I’m kind of at a standstill.”

Frankel began dating Cerussi nearly a year after her split from Jason Hoppy. After going public at a party in Miami at the end of 2013, Frankel and Cerussi were spotted on a handful of vacations in Miami, but never appeared together at press events, or on the red carpet.

The Real Housewives of New York City premieres on April 7 at 9 p.m. on Bravo. Jason Hoppy will not be seen on the show.
