Phaedra Parks Talks ‘One Of The Hardest Nights’ Of Her Life During Drama With Apollo Nida

Sunday evening’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta showed Phaedra Parks in a very emotional state. In one scene, she talked about coming to the realization that her marriage to Apollo Nida was over with her friend Sarah Jakes. Prior to the airing of the episode, Phaedra posted a collage of photos of Sarah to her Instagram page. Phaedra revealed that Sarah, a minister and author, came into her life during “one of the hardest nights of [her] life.”

“Tune in now to see my friend & confidant the beautiful anointed lady of God @sarahdjakes on#RHOA on #BRAVO. During one of the hardest nights of my life I prayed and asked God to send someone who knew HIM but could also understand me. Within hours i received a call from my dear friend who introduced me to Sarah. From that moment on she encouraged me, prayed with me and stood by me. She didnt know me from Adam’s housecat but she came to Atlanta to make sure I knew what she was saying was real. I thank God for sending her my way. She is an angel. #womanofGod #supermom #friend #PK#PKssticktogether #HEwilldoit.”

Sarah, the daughter of Bishop T.D. Jakes, not only had a child as a young teenager, but also went through a very public divorce. During Sarah’s meeting with Phaedra, Sarah used her own hard experiences to encourage Phaedra. In a rare display of emotion, Phaedra broke down in tears as she talked about wanting to be the perfect wife and the turmoil she lived through at home with Apollo.

“I wanted to be, you know, the perfect wife. And you know, at the end, he was saying and doing anything just to be mean and hurtful to me. And it was just, it was just madness all the time. Every day was madness. Every day. And, um, I said I would support him even through the criminal trouble even though I probably should have left then. But I didn’t want people to say I wasn’t being supportive. But you know, it was never a peaceful night’s sleep because he was always getting into fights. It was nonstop. And so really, for the first time in years, I have peace.”

Phaedra Parks later told the camera that she’s finally no longer afraid of what Apollo Nida will do since he’s in prison.

“I don’t live in fear of ‘what has Apollo done, what will he do next?’ I can go to sleep knowing that he’s not going to hurt himself or hurt anybody around him. I can go to sleep knowing he’s not going to hurt himself or anyone around him.”

In another scene, Phaedra met with her mentor and attorney, Ronnie Kaplan, to talk about divorcing Apollo. Ronnie told Phaedra that her prenup was “airtight” and then asked why she married Apollo, who had been in jail before, when there were other men she could have chosen. Phaedra admitted that she may have been fooled by Apollo.

“I married him because I thought he was a changed man. I married him because I knew that he loved me … Maybe he was conning me the whole time … He’s leaving a trail of madness.”

One person Phaedra Parks did not confide in during the episode was Kandi Burruss. The past few episodes have shown Phaedra questioning Kandi’s loyalty and friendship. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Kandi publicly criticized Phaedra for talking to NeNe Leakes and Porsha Williams about their friendship instead of to her directly. Viewers may see the two getting it all out next week. A preview for the next episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta shows an irritated Kandi, during the women’s vacation in the Philippines, directly asking Phaedra what she has been saying about their friendship to others.
