Liam Payne is one person in One Direction fans can rely on for a direct response or opinion. For this reason, it may not surprise true One Direction fans to find out that Zayn Malik's recent departure from the One Direction tour in South East Asia has filled Liam Payne with some angry comments.
Before they went on tour around March 11 to perform in Singapore, Liam Payne was angered that reporters were criticizing his drinking. At that time, the Metro reported that Liam Payne, instead of keeping it to himself, explained his side of things on Twitter and then apologized for "ranting" on social media.
Now, the Spec reports that Liam Payne has some harsh words for Zayn Malik after he decided to leave the tour to deal with breaking up with his girlfriend, Perrie Edwards. Long story short: Liam Payne does not think Zayn Malik can take the heat associated with being a big name celebrity.
The Spec claims that a source states Liam Payne said about Zayn, "He is just a kid. He wants to make music, but the spotlight that comes with it is hard. Fame is kind of catching up with all of them. It's been a gruelling and intense few years and it's having a snowball effect now. Zayn would be happy with a low-key life. He has a problem with the fame - he doesn't handle the attention very well, and every so often he has a little wobble."
Is Liam Payne a bit too angry? Does Liam Payne have such a bad temper that he needs anger management? After all, why would Liam Payne say such harsh things (if they are, in the end, proved to actually be his words)? Because every move of an extremely popular celebrity is recorded, there is media evidence of Liam Payne getting angry on occasion -- but there is no evidence that Liam Payne has so much anger that it warrants alarm or intervention.
The good news that the Spec does give us is that Liam Payne and Zayn will have a chance to work out their differences in person. The Saturday Star says Zayn will be meeting up with Liam Payne and the rest of One Direction for their upcoming show dates in South Africa on March 28, 29, and April 1.
Despite the fact that Zayn Malik probably had no ill will toward anyone when he quit the One Direction tour, the fact remains that Liam Payne is right about life in the spotlight being grueling -- and fans have high expectations. For instance, the media in the United Arab Emirates exploded with anxiety over the news that Zayn Malik might not be joining Liam Payne and the guys in Dubai on April 4.
Now that Liam Payne has said his piece, the next thing to watch for will be to see if Zayn takes on Liam Payne's personal growth challenge -- or refutes the charges.
