Celine Dion Is Returning To Las Vegas This Summer

After disappearing from the spotlight for some time now, Celine Dion is returning to Las Vegas.

The “My Heart Will Go On” singer has announced that she will be returning to Las Vegas in late August to the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace with a new show.

The Canadian singer took an “indefinite break” from performing after her husband, Renee Angelil faced a relapse of throat cancer, according to Fox News. But the break has ended, as Celine has announced the return this summer.

Dion talked to People about a return to performing after helping her husband battle cancer, “It is very emotional for me and I’m anticipating the emotions to grow even more as the date gets closer.”

So why exactly would she want to return to spending so many hours a day performing? According to People, it’s all for “her fans.” Dion talked about her love for her fans saying, “It’s very touching.”

Celine has promised that her new Las Vegas show will be just as good as her past ones.

“Every night is a new show … I promise there will be high, happy notes.”

Dion began her first residency in Las Vegas at the Colosseum in March 2003 with her show “A New Day,” after her popular album. Dion ended her first Vegas show in December 2007 after bringing in more than $400 million.

Dion then returned to Las Vegas in December of 2011 with her “Celine” show, which has “hauled in $133.3 million so far,” before leaving to take care of her husband.

Dion’s husband was originally diagnosed with cancer in 1999, at which time the singer announced her retirement. After recovering, though, Dion returned to recording and performing.

When Dion had to postpone her Las Vegas show and her Asian tour last summer, she released a statement to her fans as seen on E!.

“I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children…I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support.”

While Dion was helping her husband recover, she was also battling an ailment that “caused inflammation in her throat muscles.”

Despite the hiatus, it appears that fans are excited for Celine Dion’s return to performing.

For anyone wishing to be a part of Celine Dion returning to Las Vegas, tickets will be on sale soon.
