‘Charlie & The Chocolate Factory’ Actor David Kelly Dead At 82


Irish actor David Kelly has passed away he was 82-years-old.

The Waking Ned Devine actor’s death was announced by his family members on Monday and confirmed by a BBC report which did not reveal the cause of the actors death or the location.

Over his very long acting career that spanned back to 1951 David Kelly appeared in various movies including Stardust, The Italian Job and the Matchmaker. His biggest known roll however came as Charlie’s grandfather in the 2005 Tim Burton movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a retelling of the classic Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.

Kelly also completed several memorable rolls on television most notably on Fawlty Towers and Strumpet City.

Kelly is survived by his wife Lauri Morton and two children.
