Ghanaian Students Preyed On For Gay Adult Films

An investigation has revealed several male students from the University of Ghana have been starring in underground gay porn movies for cash.

Investigations run by StarrFMonline and Breeze FM, have uncovered an underground gay porn movie industry where foreign producers and their local collaborators are preying on university students and unemployed young men who desperately need money.

StarrFMonline currently holds 10 of the gay porn movies, in which several male students of the University of Ghana appear.

Those responsible for luring the students into the industry are a local Ghanaian producer at the Christian Village in Accra working in conjunction with a white foreign collaborator.

The two men offered each cast member Gh Cedi 4,500 (around $1,244) for their appearance in the gay porn movies. They particularly targeted the university students, along with unemployed and illiterate young men who needed cash.

Ghanaweb reports that according to investigations, the producers of the movies, Black4Blacks Productions failed to keep their promise and paid members of the cast less than half the agreed fee.

StarrFMonline found several locations used for filming the gay porn movies, which included several rented apartments in Abidjan in Ivory Coast, as well as the Spintex enclave in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

As part of the investigation, one of the actors, who is unnamed and didn’t realize he was being recorded, told the whole story to a friend in Accra, admitting to having gay sex with a student from the University of Ghana.

The man added that the directors and producers of the movies assured him the videos would not be released in Africa and would only be available to credit card holders, presumably online.

As a result of the promised payment not being received, several of the young men filed a report against the foreign movie producer. Some of the victims accused officers of the Madina Police of taking bribes from the foreign producer.

However, the commander in charge of the Madina Police Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU), ASP Christine Srofenyo, said in an interview that the young men are themselves suspect in the case. She said the young men went into hiding after making the allegations, which caused police to shelve the case of fraud against the producers of the movies.

It seems now police are seeking the actors themselves for their participation in the gay porn movies as male same-sex sexual acts are reportedly illegal in Ghana and those participating can face a three-year jail sentence.
