Man Who Persistently Stands Naked In HIs Doorway Isn’t Breaking Any Law

The residents of one north Charlotte community have grown increasingly frustrated with a neighbor who chooses to stand totally naked in his front doorway. However, police said that, as he isn’t committing any crime, no action can be taken against him.

The last thing the good people of the Cardinal Glen neighborhood want to see on a daily basis is their neighbor, displaying his assets, literally, for all and sundry to see.

What’s more, according to a number of residents, the man has been periodically standing naked in his doorway for the best part of 10 years!

As neighbor Pecolia Threatt said to reporters, “I was out rolling the trash can on Friday and I just happened to look over there and he was standing there buck naked. It’s not good to have people walking around here naked like that a grown man like that with all these kids out here you know.”

At the same time, another neighbor, Adrienna Harris also expressed her dismay abut the situation to reporters.

“Because my daughter grew up in this neighborhood. Even this week, when she was home from spring break, she would call me at work and say ‘Mom, I’m getting ready to go outside, but let me check if he’s out there first’. That’s how bad it is in the neighborhood.”

While Harris confirmed that she has called the cops on numerous occasions over the past ten years, nothing has been done to stop the neighbor from exposing himself.

Meanwhile, a spokeswoman from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said, “Since it is not a criminal incident, it was documented in the ‘call for service’ but there is no report. After consulting with the magistrate and Police Attorney, unless he is outside of his home, he cannot be charged,” she said.

Both Harris and Threatt are parents of younger children, and that makes the situation for them that much worse. As Harris shared, “I don’t let them go outside and play. I have to keep them inside the house because that’s really inappropriate for young kids to see stuff like that.”

While all the people in the neighborhood have tried talking to the man to reason with him, they have been unsuccessful in stopping him from standing naked in his doorway.
